WHAT IF?

What if thousands and thousands of Christians humbled themselves before God, repented, and called out to Him for true spiritual awakening for an entire week? That's exactly what happened from October 30 - November 6, 2016. People in all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico participated, making it an unprecedented event in United States history. But that's not all. Other countries joined us, including China, Canada, Panama, Pakistan, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria, Switzerland, Germany, the Solomon Islands, the United Kingdom and more. The testimonies of what God started in lives, families and churches are just beginning to pour in. America is in trouble. True change does not begin in the White House. It begins in God's House, among God's people. The National Week of Repentance is the most helpful, timely, practical thing we can all do at this vital time in history. Don't miss it. Spread the word . . .

Dr. Alveda King, niece of slain civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., composed the official prayer of the National Week of Repentance, stressing the need for humility and love to breach America's racial divide:

In the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14, we humbly come before You, Father, to pray and ask forgiveness for our sins. At a time in our country when so many are turning away from You, we who believe in Your love for Your people, place our complete faith and trust in You knowing that You are the answer to all of our problems. We ask You to heal our land from the total disregard for the dignity of human life; from all racial tension in America; from all religious discrimination and persecution; and from a disregard for godly authority. We ask that You shower us with Your love and mercy. Soften all hardened hearts that we may learn to love each others as You love us. Help us to acknowledge that according to Acts 17:26, we are created of one blood and that we should love each other as brothers and sisters of one human race while embracing our individual ethnicities and cultures. We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
